YO YO YO IT'S FRO-YO MONTH

I am an ice cream lover. I LOVE ice cream. I couldn't live in a world where ice cream didn't exist. And I am in love with this vegan ice cream. The great thing about it is the base consists of only a banana!! When you whip a frozen banana in a food processor, the end result is PURE AMAZING! The taste is a mix between frozen yogurt and creamy soft serve ice cream.

I am such an ice cream lover that I have spent the past two and half months compiling a list of fun flavors. I based my ice cream bowls off the crazy flavors of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. I have spent every night trying out a new flavor. I whipped up so many great flavors that I couldn't begin to tell you my favorite because I have waaaay too many.

If you are a Ben and Jerry's fan, you know indulging in that carton comes with a price.......turn that container around and take a look......gulp!! I know..... how can something that delightful, be that bad? It's ok every now and then, but if you have a couple scoops every night, you might have to buy a new pair of pants soon.

Start off with a couple of bananas.
I buy a bunch and freeze them so I have a nice supply.

Peel the bananas and cut them into pieces.
Skipping this step will cause a major headache with a whole frozen banana.

Place the bananas in a container and freeze for 24 hours.

Once the bananas have been frozen for 24 hours they are ready to be turned into creamy ice cream.

Place the pieces in a food processor.

_______________________________________________________________________

Turn the food processor on for about a minute. You'll notice you might get a few chunks on the top of the bowl. Turn the food processor off and scrap the chunks back down.
At this point I always add a little vanilla extract. About a tsp for 1 banana.

After about a minute the banana will begin to get extremely creamy.
At this point you can either add additional ingredients or scrape and place in a bowl.

If you like really soft ice cream eat now!
If you like your ice cream to be firm, place the bowl in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
You'll then be able to scoop and serve!

APRIL'S DAIRY FREE FRO-YO FLAVORS
A flavor everyday! How great is that?!
Rest assured that this is a healthy snack. Ok, so a couple of my flavors tip the scale of  healthy, but at least 95% are! So the good news is you can have a scoop of most the flavors every night!

This first recipe isn't a Ben and Jerry's flavor. This is for all of those coffee lovers out there who love some java at all times of the day.

Hot Espresso Fro-Yo

Vanilla Base:
1 Banana
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
